Larry Smith is an active member of the community and serves as a Board of Trustee at The Marcus Foundation, which focuses on Jewish causes, children, medical research, free enterprise and the community. He has served on the Board of Trustees of the Devereux Foundation, and is past chairman of the Devereux Georgia Advisory Board. Devereux provides services for over 15,000 people with emotional, developmental and educational disabilities in the facilities located in eleven states. He is a board member of IFF, an organization funding pediatric brain cancer research. He helped assisted in the launch and is involved in the Atlanta Jewish Gene Screen, a marketing campaign directed to doctors, rabbis and Jewish couples advising prenatal testing for 19 diseases.
